HIRE US

WE ARE CURRENTLY BOOKING EVENTS FOR THE 2008 SEASON!

This page is designed to tell you all you need to know about hiring us for your event. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the Secretary.

As an event organiser - what can you offer me?

For information on what we can offer you in terms of displays and everyday Living history please see the About Us page where you will find all the information you need.

Where can we travel to?

Depending on the duration of the event we are able to get to most places in the UK. We have been known to even go as far as France and the Isle of Wight!

What Equipment do we have?

Our Society colours are Black and Gold and you may notice that this colour dominates our encampment and helps to define us from the crowd.

We have a wide variety of tents including a large Burgundian (yellow and Black) made by Past Tents, 3 roundels in white, black and yellow and black and turquoise, a large bell tent in red and white and various other smaller soldiers tents. All of our tents are kept open throughout the day and all of them are kitted out to suit the character the tent belongs to.

We often set out our encampment in a horseshoe format which allows the public to walk through the encampament and see into the tents. In the centre of the encampment is a fully working range. We often try to keep a fire going throughout the duration of the event. Our site is roped off with wooden posts, in keeping with our encampament aesthetic and there are many banners on display.

We have a wide variety of armour and weaponry, clearly displayed on a large weapons stand. And of course we have many bows and arrows on display.

how many members are there?

At the moment our membership consists of about 15 people, however, we have a constant flow of interested enquiries so by the new season our membership may have grown.

INSURANCE

All our members are fully insured to carry out all off our activities. We also have full public Liability cover. For further details of our insurance, please contact the Secretary.

Society PolicY DOCUMENTS

We are very aware of the potential dangers a hobby like this can create. All of our members are conversant with our detailed Health and Safety Policy and Society Constitution. We have also carried out and produced a reliable risk assessment document.

All of these documents can be provided on request.

Hire Costs

Our hire costs vary according to the duration of the event and what you would like us to do: Please see the details of our charges below.

It is important to mention here that we are a Non Profit Making Organisation. There will be a charge for each event we attend as we have to be able to cover our expenses. Everything we earn goes back into the Society for the repair, replacement and maintainance of our equipment. I am sure you appreciate that re-enactment is one of the most expensive hobbies these days.
