WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE
This site is the home of the Great Northwood company. We are a Medieval Longbow Archery and
re-enactment Society based in London. Our aim as a re-enactment society is to present an accurate impression
of people who lived in the 14th and 15th centuries and in so doing we are committed to providing exciting and
varied shows for both organisers, the public and of course for our members!
STEP BACK IN TIME
It is the year of our Lord, 1471. King Edward has reconciled with his brother George Duke of Clarence, taken
Henry VI prisoner and imprisoned Queen Margaret of Anjou after the battle of Tewkesbury in May of this year.
Although it has only been a few months since the bloody battle these are times of peace and harmony
throughout England.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE US IN ACTION
We now have some event bookings in place.
We are travelling all round the country once again this summer, if you would like to see us in action please
come to one of the family friendly events listed in our events diary on the right hand side of this page.
All events are open to the public so if you fancy coming along to view our encampment, try out a sword, try on
a helmet or a chain mail shirt, test your strength with a longbow or even have your photo taken with an heroic
knight or a beautiful maiden...just come to one of our events and look for our black and yellow banners!
